From Cultivate.Coop

The rollout of online literacy and numeracy testing has been hailed a success with 99.9 per cent of students able to complete the assessment without technical problems.

Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham said almost 670,000 students completed the NAPLAN tests online in May over nine days.

Local internet connectivity and device issues saw a small number of tests diverted to complete on paper, but the shift to online across all states and territories would continue.

Education ministers meeting in Adelaide on Friday agreed to an independent review of the way NAPLAN data is presented, but there was no agreement on a broader review of the testing regime.

The review, to initially report in December, will look at the way the data is used on the My School website as well as how teachers and school leaders use NAPLAN to inform teaching practice.
